An early Friday morning fire burned the rest of an already heavily damaged mobile home in a fire earlier this summer.
Salem Fire Chief Jim Cerny says they got the alarm to 700 South Washington at 5:36 Friday morning.
“I don’t know who called it in but it came in as a structure fire fully involved. There is nothing that is going to be salvageable.”
Cerny says after the earlier fire no one was living at the home.
“We had a fire here previously and it was destroyed where it was not livable after that fire. This is just the rubble that was left over after the first one burned.”
Both Kell and Odin Firemen responded to the scene and helped haul water due to the poor condition of the water lines in that portion of Salem.
The fire is considered suspicious because there were no utilities still connected at the home. The State Fire Marshal’s office has been called in to investigate.
The ownership of the mobile home was not immediately clear.
