A 53-year-old Centralia man has been charged in Marion County Court with weapons and drug charges following a July 22nd traffic stop by Central City Police.
James Brow of Dover Street in Centralia faces a count of unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon. If found guilty of the charge, the law requires a two-to-ten-year prison term.
He also faces counts of unlawful possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a controlled substance for having possession of less than 15 grams of cocaine. If found guilty of either county, Brow will be eligible for an extended term sentence due to a prior felony conviction in Marion County Court.
Brow was also charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Central City Police say after getting consent to search the drugs, the meth, cocaine and drug pipe were allegedly found along with some shotgun shells.
The State’s Attorney’s office has filed a motion to hold Brow without bond when he is scheduled to appear in Marion County Court for the first time on Friday.
