17-year-old Maddox Robb of Kinmundy is the winner of the Marion County 4H Senior Master Showmanship Award. The winner is judged best overall in handling beef, swine and sheep. Robb says he’s been showing cattle since he was eight years old.
“I only show cows, so usually dad buys me a heifer and 3 or 4 months before fair we will start working on them.”
Robb says he borrowed a lamb and pig for the competition. He notes it is harder to show animals you are not familiar. Robb is going to be a senior at South Central High School. He will now advance to the state competition at the State Fair in Springfield.
The Reserve Super Showmanship Winner was Hallie Borcherding.
In the Junior Showmanship competition, Ashton Borcherding was the winner. Logan Jones was the reserve Junior Showmanship winner.
