Crooked Creek Winery hosts downtown summer concert series

Sunday afternoon saw week four of the summer concert series in downtown Centralia hosted by the Crooked Creek Winery. The Beaucoup Bottom Band performed for a crowd of hundreds in the street on East Broadway. The weekly event also features food trucks, drink tents, and community activities such as the Suds Fest homebrew competition and Compete in the Street singing competition. Crooked Creek owner Shannon Cooney talked about the inspiration for this event and its success:

“When Mindy and I started the wine bar, we moved here from Los Angeles, and every year in Los Angeles in the park they had a downtown summer concert series. It brought a lot of people together,” Cooney said. “We wanted to do something similar here in Centralia. We wanted to do it downtown so we could highlight the progress of things that were happening downtown and promote tourism… I can’t believe that now in year four, we’re drawing crowds upwards of five, six, seven hundred people every Sunday throughout the summer.”

There are still three more weeks of this year’s summer concert series, which continues every Sunday through August 18.
