A 63-year-old rural Odin man went to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia to get treatment for injuries he sustained after being hit with a baseball bat. The alleged victim told police he didn’t know who struck him. The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday night in the Royal Lakes neighborhood.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a burglary to a garage in the 3300 block of South Perrine southeast of Centralia. A weed eater, tools, and other items are reported missing. The burglary was reported at 1:21 on Sunday afternoon. It is believed to have occurred in the past week.
The Salem Fire Protection District was called out to the Salem Walmart store just before six Monday morning when a sprinkler head sprayed water in the employee break room. The problem was traced to a malfunction in the hot water heater.
