Marion County Fair Exhibit Building entries accepted Friday and Saturday

The Marion County Fair Exhibit building comes alive with over 1,000 entries each year during fair week.

Amy Telford, who heads the exhibit building, is hoping to see more entries this year.

“We try to have a wide variety of crafts and homegrown things, flower arrangements,” Telford said. “Of course, everybody wants to come and see the quilts and embroidery… All of the talents that people have can be displayed at the exhibit building. We encourage everybody to check out our program. I’m sure they have a talent that falls into one of those categories.”

Entries will be accepted from noon to six on Friday and nine to noon on Saturday.  There is an entry form in the fair book, or you can fill out the form at the fair office.  There is a $1 shelf fee for each item, but Telford says you will get that back along with any prize money when picking up your item on Saturday, August 3rd.

After the entry period ends, the entries will be organized and judges on Saturday afternoon.  The building will reopen to the exhibitors to find out how well they did at six Saturday night.  The building will then be open to view during the fair each day.
