The Patoka School Board Thursday night approved a new three year contract with the teacher’s association.  Superintendent Justin Verhines says teachers will get a five percent pay increase the first year, a half-percent in the second year plus the district paying three-percent of the teacher retirement, and another half-percent in the third year with the district paying six-percent of teach retirement.

The board also approved a five percent pay increase for the support staff in the coming school year and approved a five year contract for Principal Phil March.

Online registration for the next school year will begin August 1st online or at the school on August 1st from one to six.  There will be a link to the registration materials on the school website. Those coming to the school will be given assistance to the forms that will be filled out online.  The school year for Patoka students will begin Wednesday, August 14th.  Teachers will have two days of workshops prior to the first day for students on Monday and Tuesday August 12th and 13th.

The board added a $20 rental fee for the chrome book chargers.  If the charger is returned with the computer at graduation the $20 will be refunded.

The board approved a tentative budget for the coming school year which currently shows the district in the black.

The board agreed to purchase a network camera from the National Federation of High School for $5,000 which will allow Patoka to broadcast sports events from the gym.
