A 19-year-old Mt. Vernon teen has been charged in Marion County Court with three counts of aggravated battery following an altercation at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital.
Alana Schmidt of Richview Road was charged with two counts of aggravated battery to a private security officer after allegedly pushing two security officers with her hand. The third count is for aggravated battery to a nurse for allegedly striking a nurse at the hospital in the jaw with her hand.
The public defender was appointed to represent Schmidt. She is scheduled to be back in court September third. As part of her pre-trial release, she was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.
