A Central City home was heavily damaged by fire Monday morning.
Centralia Fire Protection District Chief Ross Boshera says the fire was at the Sara Wright home at 143 South Marion Street.
The first calls of the fire indicate flames were showing. Upon arrival, firemen found fire through the roof with heavy fire in the structure. Boshera says the home will be a total loss.
At first, there was fear someone may be inside, but Central City Police were quickly able to determine no one was in the residence.
A state deputy fire marshal was called to the scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Firemen are seeking information from anyone with information on the fire. Please call 618-322-2954.
The Centralia Fire Protection District called the Centralia City Fire Department, Sandoval and Odin Firemen to the scene for mutual aid.
The fire call came in at 4:56 Monday morning. Firemen were on the scene for three hours.
