Fire heavily damaged a mobile home in Sandoval late Thursday night.
Sandoval Fire officials say Darrell Mason and Amanda Winegarner of 202 West Florida returned home and were greeted by fire and smoke coming from the kitchen area in the center of the residence when opening the front door. Firemen were able to confine the fire to the center portion of the mobile home that burned out the walls, but kept the fire from spreading to the rest of the home that sustained heavy heat and smoke damage.
The cause of the fire has not been determined and is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s office.
The home is owned by Justin Winegarner.
Centralia Fire Protection and Odin Firemen provided mutual aid assistance on the scene, while Centralia City Firemen stood by at the Sandoval Fire Station in the event of another fire.
The fire call came in at 11:44 Thursday night. Firemen were on the scene just over two hours.
