The championship of the Summer Varsity High School Baseball League was held last night at SCHS. Centralia knocked off Salem 4-2 scoring a pair of runs in the sixth inning to break a 2-2 tie beating Salem for the first time in 4 tries this summer.
Salem got on the board first with a 2-run homer in the opening inning from Rhett Detering. Centralia would answer back with 2 runs in the top of the 3rd and that is where we stood until the sixth. Will Stanton had a big 2 run hit in the game.
Dax Snow was really good on the mound keeping the Salem offense off balance as he went 5.2 allowing just 5 hits and 2 runs. Nolan Pryor came in for the final 1.1 for the save.
For the Wildcats, Jalen Inlow singled and scored, Noah Nix had a double and Cooper Lobek went 2-3. Rhett went the first 4 innings allowing 2 hits and 2 runs, Nix worked the final 3 innings with 4 hits and 2 runs. They each struck out 5.
