The Historic Downtown Salem Farmers Market is returning to the parking lot at the rear of Benjamin Edwards in the 200 block of West Main Street for another year.
The market is the idea of Becky Timmerman who wanted a way for local vendors to be able to sell directly to local customers.
“Come and share your wares,” she encouraged prospective vendors. “There’s no cost, there’s no charge. I want everybody to get along and have a good time… it’s just a fun feel.”
Timmerman expects at least 17 vendors this Saturday, including fresh produce, baked goods, and many handcrafted items. Saved with Amazing Grace is providing BBQ and the sides each Saturday as well.
The hours are nine to noon each Saturday, but Timmerman is allowing everyone to start at 8:30 if they wish this Saturday morning due to the extremely hot weather.
