Salem JV Drops 2 Tight Games To Mount Vernon

The Salem JV dropped a pair of tight games at the Little League Complex to Mount Vernon.  Salem dropped the first game 3-2.  The Cats had the bases loaded in the final inning with just 1 out, but couldn’t push across the tying or winning runs.  Evan Barnes singled and drove in a run along with Huck Mulvaney. Keytin Grawe singled and scored.  On the Mound, Payton Gullion was the starter, going 3 innings allowing 4 hits and 2 earned runs with 5 strikeouts.  Avery Gullion came in and worked the last 2 innings allowing nor runs and no hits with 2 strikeouts.

Salem dropped the 2nd game 6-5 with the tying run thrown out at 3rd base to end the game.  Luke Boldt went 2-3 with 2 RBI for the Cats who also got an RBI from Scout Puricelli.  Drake Rector, Landon White, Nicholi Mahranka and Kaeden Cripps all had hits.  White worked 3 innings allowing 3 runs on 4 hits with 5 strikeouts.  Rector worked the final 2 innings of 3 hit ball.
