The Salem Varsity summer Cats improved to 5-3 on the summer with their 4-3 road win at Centralia.
Rhett Detering doubled home the go-ahead run in the top of the 7th to give the Cats the lead, and Noah Nix nailed down the complete game in the 7th on the mound. Detering would double twice going 3-4 with 2 runs scored. Nix and Ryan Detering also added RBI. Aden Bass singled and scored along with Cooper Lobek.
Nix struck out 12 and didn’t walk anyone in the win. He allowed 1 earned run and scattered 6 hits. In fact, he needed just 83 pitches in the complete game, and 70 of them were strikes.
