A mobile home in Vernon was heavily damaged by fire late Friday morning.
Patoka Fire Chief Blake Hyde says the Shane Voris family at 112 Walker was home when they saw smoke coming out of a wall. They exited the home and called the fire department.
Hyde says fire engulfed the front portion of the mobile home, burning out the front wall. Firemen were able to stop the fire before it got to the rear portion of the home.
Patoka Firemen called Sandoval and Odin for mutual aide assistance.
The fire call came in at 11:45 Friday morning. Firemen remained on the scene until around three pm.
The State Fire Marshal’s office was called in to investigate the cause of the fire.
