A 63-year-old Wisconsin trucker lost control of his rig when coming off the northbound exit ramp of I-57 at Route 161 Friday night causing it to overturn on an embankment.
Initial information indicates the driver, Yaroslaw Vasylyshyn, was traveling too fast to turn onto Route 161 causing the trailer to slip over on its side. The cab mostly stayed on the roadway but also flipped over. Vasylyshyn declined hospital treatment.
The trailer was hauling paper products.
The eastbound lanes of Route 161 were closed during the cleanup.
The crash was first reported at 7:46 Friday night.
