One person was taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle rear end collision on West Main Street at the southbound off ramp to I-57.
Salem Police say a car driven by 84-year-old Shirley Parkinson of East 6th in Centralia ran into the rear of an eastbound SUV driven by Cheryl Barnes of East 200th Street in Patoka.
Parkinson was taken to Salem Township Hospital by United Medical Response. Barnes and a female juvenile passenger from Patoka declined medical treatment.
Parkinson was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The crash occurred at 5:30 Wednesday evening.
