IHSA Baseball: The State 3a/4a IHSA baseball semifinals are today at Duly Health and Care Field in Joliet. The day begins at 10 a.m. with Morris and Crystal Lake Central. Morris is 29-3 on the year out of the Interstate 8. The Central Tigers are 20-14 out of the Fox Valley Conference.
The 2nd semifinal of the day will see the Highland Bulldogs representing the southern part of Illinois when they take their 32-6-1 record to the field to take on 30-9 Lemont out of the South Suburban Conference. The first pitch is set for 1 pm.
The 4a semifinals will begin at 4 pm with the 31-8 Edwardsville Tigers taking on 31-8 Providence Catholic out of the Chicago Catholic League. The 2nd semifinal is at 7 pm between 31-9 York out of the West Suburban Conference taking on 29-7 Conant from the Mid-Suburban League.
IHSA Softball: The state large school softball tournament is held at the Louisville Slugger Complex in Peoria. The 10 am 3a state semifinal will feature 28-6 Antioch out of the Northern Lake County Conference taking on Oak Park Fenwick who is 18-7 and representing the Chicago Catholic Conference.
The 2nd semifinal will feature the Waterloo Lady Bulldogs, entering at 28-6 taking on 28-6 Antioch from the Northern Lake County Conference.
The 4a semifinals start at 4 pm with 35-3 Chicago Marist, from the East Suburban Catholic League taking on 36-1 Mundelein from the North Suburban Conference, followed at 7 pm with 28-9 Oswego from the Southwest Prairie Conference taking on St Charles North who are from the DuKane Conference.
