The historic Copperfield house on South Elm Street in Centralia will host a special open house this weekend, including a meal that will remind guests of the House of Kai restaurant that formerly occupied a portion of the building.
The meal will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday and will feature House of Kai’s renowned “bones” dish, as well as the restaurant’s “yellow bird” drink. Beginning at 7 p.m., there will be an open house event, during which guests will be able to see other parts of Copperfield, including areas that now function as an AirBNB site. The open house will include a musical performance by the band Taco Truck.
Copperfield owner Jamie Holzer says many people have asked about seeing the former House of Kai site, and this weekend’s event will be an opportunity for them to relive old memories there.
Tickets are still available for Saturday’s event. General admission tickets for the open house are $25 each and can be purchased at the door or on the website Ticket Leap under the “House of Kai Tribute” event. Tickets for both the meal and the open house are $40, and those must be purchased in advance on Ticket Leap.
