The Salem Community Band and Choir will have performances Saturday night and Sunday afternoon at the Salem Community Theatre.

One of the organizers Debbie Woodruff says the theme is ‘Let’s All Go to the Movies’.

“We have approximately 53 members in the band and about 38 or so in the chorus.  We will be performing tunes and songs that everyone will recognize from movies.”

The concerts will be at seven Saturday night and three Sunday afternoon.  Doors will open a half-hour before show time for seating.

Tickets are just $5.00 per person and may be purchased at Salem City Hall, the Salem Theatre, Sam Phillips CPA office, online at salemiltheatre.org, or directly from any member.

Woodruff says membership to the community band is open to all ages with members currently ranging in age from 13 to 82.

The group formed in 2018 has traditionally performed twice a year, once in the summer and once at Christmas-time.   This is the first time they will have two performances.   Woodruff says the goal is to make the concert available to more people.
