It could be a very good day for the National Trail as they will have 2 teams in their respective state baseball championships.  Altamont and St Anthony try to join South Central (2021) and North Clay (2022) as National Trail Conference teams that have won a state baseball title in the past 4 years.

The Altamont Indians are playing in their first ever state final four, and they can add playing in their first ever state championship game today after knocking off Gibson City 3-2 on a walk-off in the bottom of the 7th.  Indians Kaden Davis stole 3rd leading to an errant throw by the catcher scoring Davis and sending the Indians to their 2nd straight walk-off victory after winning their Super Sectional Monday on a bases loaded walk.  Dillan Elam had a great game on the mound that included an amazing catch on a line drive nearly hitting him as well as getting out of a massive bases loaded jam in the 4th.  Altamont will take on Ottawa Marquette in the 1pm championship after their 9-3 win over Jacksonville Routt.  The 1a 3rd place game opens the day at Dozer Park in Peoria. At 10am.

The St Anthony Bulldogs are headed to the 2a state championship game after an impressive 12-1 win in 6-innings over Williamsville.  Junior Brock Fearday had a double and 2 triples with 2 RBI.  The Dawgs will try to captures their 2nd ever state title, the other was in 2012 when they take on Maroa Forsyth tonight at 7pm after their 11-1 win over Newman Central Catholic in 5-innings.  The 3rd place game begins at 4pm.
