The Marion County Sheriff’s Department arrested a 41-year-old Salem man for alleged possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop early last night in the 300 block of East Olive in Salem.

The sheriff’s department canine officer conducted the stop on Michael Talley of West Warmoth Street.  After the canine alerted on the vehicle, the drug was located.

Talley was taken to the Marion County Jail where he was booked and released on a notice to appear in court.
