Lady Cats Look For 2nd Straight Regional Title Today….Mount Vernon’s Season Ends To Marion

The Salem Lady Wildcats are in regional championship action today at Highland when they take on the Effingham Hearts.  Salem is 25-7 on the season and has a win over Effingham this season.  They shutout the Hearts at Tully Park way back on March 20th by a score of 7-0.  Game time is at 4:30 and you can listen to the title game on WSIQ this afternoon.

Also today, Triad hosts Waterloo.

In 3a regional finals yesterday, Marion beat Mount Vernon 10-0 at Carbondale, Charleston beat Champaign Central to win the Mahomet title 8-6, Mt Zion won at home beating Danville 13-0 in five innings.

In 4a regional championships Edwardsville won at home beating Belleville West 7-4.  Today, Belleville East will host Quincy.

In 1a sectional finals, Casey Westfield and Windsor/Stew-Stras play at Altamont with Goreville hosting Trico.

St Anthony is in their 2a sectional final at Monticello when they take on Normal University tonight at 5pm.
