The Effingham Hearts will have a new head varsity boys basketball coach this season. Robinson coach Mack Thompson was hired as the new Athletic Director for Effingham for next year. The Board of Education recently added the position of Head Coach to his title.
Thompson stepped down from Robinson after 13 years this past season. He leaves Robinson as the program leader in coaching wins, a three time regional champion and two-time Sweet 16 finalist in the IHSA. He will officially take over in Effingham on July 1st.
