Lady Cats Sending 2 To State….2a Salem Sectional Results From Thursday

The Salem Lady Cats hosted the 2a Track Sectional yesterday at Jim Finks Field.  2 Lady Cats advanced to the State Track Meet in Charleston.  Finley Puricelli finished 2nd in the 400m and Hannah Smith won the discus in a throw of 114-10.

In other performances from Salem yesterday, the 4×100 team was just over .1 of a second off a 30 year Salem high record.  They were 4th in 51.31.  Emily Runyan 6th in the pole vault, Kinsey Jarrett 8th in long jump and triple jump, Brylee Pennypacker 6th in discus, Smith was 5th in shot, Eden Gallia 9th in the 100 and 6th in the 200, Avery Robinson 4th in the 200.  Salem as a team was 8th with 30.50 points.

For Mount Vernon, Melania Zedalis was 6th in the high jump, 2nd in the long jump with teammate Tiara Johnson 4th, Kamaree Pollard was 2nd in the triple jump with Dezaire Jones 3rd, Mina Osborne was 6th in the shot, Payton Sledge 4th in the 100m hurdles with teammate Tarrah Sneddon 6th, Kennedy Bax 3rd in the 800m, Sledge was also 5th in the 300m hurdles, Pollard also won the 200m.  Mount Vernon also won the 4×200 and was 2nd in the 4×400.

For Patoka/South Central, Emma Jenne was 9th in the high jump, Brooke Cowger was 4th in the disucs and 4th in the shot put, Kayla Engel 5th in the 800m.

For Centralia, Gracie Morgan 5th in the pole vault, Jordyn Peterson 6th in the triple jump, Sabre Schirefer and Mya McGee went 10 and 11 in the shot,Remi McDonald was 8th in the 100m hurdles, Jenna Wagner was 3rd in the 100m with Sha’Mary Maines-May was 5th, Aniah Young 8th in the 400m, Adariyah Dabney was 9th in the 300m hurdles, Zaria Strowder was 3rd in the 200m, Centralia also won the 4×100 relay.
