State Police have released the results of alcohol countermeasure enforcement and distracted driving enforcement patrols conducted in April.
The distracted driving patrol concentrated on Marion and Effingham Counties. There were 17 hand-held phone/device citations and three texting while driving-citations issued.
The alcohol countermeasure enforcement patrols were in Marion and Jasper Counties. The patrols were focused on preventing, detecting, and taking enforcement action in response to violations associated with impaired driving and illegal transportation or consumption of alcohol or drugs.
There were a total of 14 citations issued, including one for driving under the influence, three for other alcohol or drug citations, two apiece for occupant restraint and registration offenses, one for a driver’s license offense, and two for insurance violations. There were 30 written warnings issued.
