Richard Allen (Rick) Daniels Jr, 54, of Mattoon, Illinois passed away on April 25, 2024, at Mattoon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. He was born April 1, 1970, in Carbondale, Illinois to Richard and Carol (Crews) Daniels.
Rick was recently diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma (Bile Duct Cancer) and, while not in pain, the cancer was very aggressive.
Rick is survived by his parents, sister Barbara (Brent) Bartley, Stepson E4 Senior Airman Jonathan Cuautte, and sons Jackob Daniels and Brandon Smith. Daughter Emily Biere. Nieces Nicole (Travis) Hayes and Lindsay Wilson. Rick is also survived by 4 Grandchildren and 5 Great Nieces and Nephews.
Rick was preceded in death by his wife, Amanda Sue Daniels, and Grandparents Raymond and Martha Crews. He was also preceded in death by his children’s mother.
Per his wishes, Rick will be cremated. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made in Rick’s honor to the Carmi Baptist Children’s Home.
