The Salem 14u Wildcats are 6-3 after going 1-2 this weekend. They opened with a 9-0 win over the O’Fallon Bombers Saturday. Keytin King homered going 2-2 on the day. Salem got doubles from Jaxon Ward, Kaeden Cripps, Logan Butts and Nicholi Marhanka. Scout Puricelli was the winning pitcher with Lance Nix working the last 2.1 innings. They combined to allow just 1 hit.
Salem then lost their final pool play game to the Chiefs 14u 9-6. King and Nix doubled for the Cats with Ward driving in 2 runs. King, Ward, Landen White and Logan Butts pitched in the loss.
Salem then lost to the Chiefs again in a Sunday elimination game 8-0. Nix doubled and had 2 of Salem’s 7 hits in the game. Nix and White were the pitchers for Salem in the game.
