2024 05/04 – Thomas Harlan Webb

Thomas Harlan Webb, age 80 of Iuka, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at his home with his family by his side.

Thomas was born on March 31, 1944, in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Eugene Mumpher Webb and Mary Marvalee (Powell) Webb.  He married Marcella (Shaw) Webb on October 8, 1995, in rural Iuka, and together they enjoyed 28 years united in marriage.

Survivors include his wife, Marcella of Iuka; children, Michael Peddycoart of Iuka, Thomas Webb and wife Angie of Murphysboro, Kevin Peddycoart of Effingham, Lori Ann Lipsy of Louisville, Kentucky, and Jennifer Thomas and husband Rick of Nashville, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Carol Webb of Adena, Ohio; brother-in-law, Melvin Shaw of Greenup; 13 grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Mary Webb; a son, Larry D. Peddycoart; a brother, Fred Webb; and son-in-law, Gary Lipsey; four brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.

Thomas was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Iuka.

Before retirement, Thomas worked as an engraver and machinist at Mt. Vernon Mill Works.

Thomas served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.  To honor his service, there will be military rites at the graveside.

Funeral services for Thomas Harlan Webb will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Lance Tate and Jonathan Timm officiating.   Burial will follow at the Arborcrest Memorial Park in Funkhouser, Illinois.  There will be a visitation on Saturday from noon until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and will be received at the funeral home.  Online condolences and memories can be made at www.CrouseFH.com.
