2024 04/26 – Sterling Williams

Sterling Williams, 30, of Atlanta Georgia, formerly of Centralia, Illinois passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024. He was born on April 15, 1993, the son of Stirling and Geutanna Moore in Centralia.

Survivors that will mourn the loss of Sterling include his parents, Stirling and Geutanna Moore; his beautiful children, Aaliyah Dunkley, and Eliana Ellington; brothers, Darrian Williams and significant other, Kristi, Darren Whitelow, Kyrran Williams, Armond Moore, Devin Johnson, Ardi Moore; sisters, Brittany Underwood, Alliya Williams, Brandi Williams, Courtney Moore; 20 nieces and nephews; grandfather, Bob Bell; uncles Robert Rush and wife Suzanna, Edward Rush, Stephon Moore; aunts, Dawn Rush, Vicki Lasley, Valicia Moore; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.

Sterling was preceded in death by grandparents, Gloria Moran, Joshephine Moore, and Malcom Bryant; great-grandmothers, Helen Hill, and Elaine Westbrook; and an aunt and several uncles.

Sterling was a true athlete, possessing amazing basketball skills who was privileged to show off his moves on the court in Atlanta and Virginia. He knew the value of working hard and was employed with a company that did landscaping and a moving company. Sterling especially enjoyed transforming homeowner’s landscapes into a serene, beautiful oasis. He had an eye for color and design, creating one-of-a-kind fashion pieces that made the person wearing them feel uplifted and happy. Sterling loved to hear a good beat and as a music artist, he composed rap music that had everyone dancing and singing along. He was a loyal friend and valued downtime hanging with his friends who were like family to him. Sterling had strong family ties and valued time spent with his family. Sterling was dearly loved and will be deeply missed, and those who loved him will continue to do kind things in memory of Sterling.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2024, at New Covenant Ministries in Centralia. Friends and relatives are welcome to a visitation time from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church in Centralia. Memorials may be made in Sterling’s honor to the Family.
