Salem Select U12 took away a win against the St. Louis Stars to finish up their inaugural SLYSA season as undefeated division champions!!!!
Braelyn Holzhausen, Laney Kuhns, and Stevie Nix all walked away with hat tricks, scoring three goals each. Addy Nix added two goals for the day. Brooklyn Anderson and Gabby Gaston each added a goal as well. Paisley Stanford and Laney Kuhns had multiple assists. Alexis Deforest and McKinleigh Parker both spent time in goal and kept the opponents to only two goals for the day. One of the most notable plays of the game came from goalie, McKinleigh Parker, who assisted a goal all the way from the goal box! We could honestly write a paragraph about all of the incredible plays every single girl on the team created. It was an outstanding team effort across the board! Congratulations on a fantastic season ladies! #slysaleague
Salem JV boys had another amazing performance Saturday, shutting out Anna 3-0! Grayson Frazier earned another hat trick for the second game in a row! Caleb Dice once again had a clean sheet in goal. A very strong midfield was led by Jayden Newcomb and Hunter Williams.
Salem JV Boys went 1 and 1 today. Gabe Thomason had 2 goals for the day. The first match against Marion was scoreless for the first 50 minutes, but Salem JV fell short. Harrisburg put up a good fight, but with help from midfielders Kyler Bryan and Anthony Hopkins Salem was able to hold the lead. Caleb Dice had some amazing saves in goal. Salem JV finished the weekend 2 for 3.
