A 36-year-old Salem man was ordered detained without bond after formally being charged in Marion County Court on Friday with three new charges following a Thursday domestic altercation.

Levi Sullivan of North Broadway was charged with aggravated domestic battery, misdemeanor domestic battery, and unlawful restraint.  He’s accused of strangling a family member with his hands and forcing the same woman into a bedroom and preventing her from leaving.

Judge Mark Stedelin ordered Sullivan held without bond after finding he was unlikely to comply with any pretrial conditions.   Sullivan had been on pre-trial release at the time of his Thursday arrest on three pending charges of methamphetamine delivery.
