A 37-year-old Salem woman has been arrested for aggravated battery in a public place, aggravated battery to a police officer, and obstructing identification following an altercation at the Murphy Gas Station on West Main.

Salem Police say Tiffany Organ of Old Texas Lane was initially involved in a domestic dispute with a person who left the scene.  She then allegedly threw the cell phone of another customer to the ground and punched the woman.  Organ was later located at Arby’s restaurant across the parking lot.   Police say she gave a fictitious name but because she matched the description of the person wanted in the gas station incident she was taken back to Murphy’s.

When police confirmed she was the person involved, Organ was taken into custody and allegedly spit on the police officer.

Organ was transported to the Marion County Jail to await a decision on formal charges.
