Wildcats Can’t Hold 7th Inning Lead, Fall To Breese Central
The Salem Wildcats trailed Breese Central 2-1 after 3 innings, but scored 3 times in the bottom of the sixth to take a 4-2 lead. The Cougars however punched 5 runs across in the seventh and handed Salem their hardest loss to take of the season 7-4. Noah Nix took the loss going 6.1 allowing 8 hits and 6 earned runs with 13 strikeouts and only 1 walk. Nix drove in 2 runs at the plate with RBI from Gavin Zimmermann and Jalen Inlow. Josh Powelss, Keaton Gullion, Rhett Detering and Colton Shelton added hits, with Kam Wilkins going 2-3. Salem is 9-10 overall and 2-4 in the Cahokia with road trip to Mater Dei on Friday.
SC & NC Play To 2-2 Tie
The SC Cougars finished their game with North Clay in a 2-2 tie. The Cardinals led 2-1 after five innings and SC tied it in the sixth with the game going into the 8th inning before the rain came and called it. Colton Smith and Maddux Robb drove in the SC runs. Coen West worked 6 innings allowing 3 hits and no runs. Chase Guerrettaz added 2 innings of work. The Cougars will host Flora today.
Stallion Fall To Father McGivney
The Christ Our Rock Stallions fell to Father McGivney 9-0. Jayden Bazile, Parker Boehne, Damari Dabney and Christian Nollman all signaled for the Stallions. Dabney and Lendon Isaiah pitched in the loss.
