Wildcats Drop Conference Game At Roxana…SC Falls In Opener Of Wood Bat Classic

The Salem Wildcats were scheduled to play at Robinson today, but those games have been canceled.  Salem is 9-9 on the season and 2-3 in the Cahokia Conference after a tough loss at Conference leading Roxana 3-1.  Salem made 2 errors and allowed an unearned run in the loss.  The Cats had 5 hits on the day, Noah Nix had a double and RBI, Jalen Inlow had 2 hits and scored with singles from Ryan Detering and Keaton Gullion.    Rhett Detering was good on the mound allowing 5 hits and 2 earned runs with 8 strikeouts and 3 walks in the complete game.

The SC Cougars will continue hosting their Wood Bat Classic today.  The Cougars lost to Flora yesterday to open tournament play 5-4.  Maddux Robb had 2 RBI for the Cougars with Callaway Smith and Trevan Sidwell adding RBI.  Brody Markley took the loss on the mound working 5.2 with Smith and Zane Montes also pitching in the loss.
