The Salem Township Foundation presented a $50,000 check to the hospital on Wednesday. Left to right are foundation members Susan Knapp (secretary treasurer), Ola Chapman (vice President), Sandy Phillips, Barb Schoonover, Hospital President Lisa Ambuehl, Sue Rose, Myron Lloyd (President), Denise Burke, Chariya Tawjareon, Sharon Woodward, and Joyce Bruce. Foundation members not present were Mike Lewis and Leon Chapman.

The Salem Township Hospital Foundation has presented a $50,000 check to the hospital.

Interim Hospital President Lisa Ambuehl accepted the check.

“The $50,000 check is going to go towards a third ultrasound machine that we decided imaging needed to purchase.  We already have two.  So a third one just allows us to schedule patients in a more timely manner and hopefully, that will increase our business.”

The donation puts the Hospital Foundation over the $1.5-million mark for capital equipment and improvements to the hospital.   They have also provided $146,652 in health care scholarships.

Ambuehl is very appreciative of the foundation.

“Having the foundation has been a huge benefit to the hospital because all the money they raise it comes back to the hospital.   That allows us to purchase equipment that would normally have to go into the capital budget.  Their donations have allowed us to do a lot of things around the hospital.  I think at one time it helped with furnishings for the new wing and those types of things.”

Anyone who would like to donate to the foundation may do so by giving your gift to any of the STH Foundation Board Members or by sending a gift in the name of STH Foundation.   Donations can be made to the foundation at 12-01 Ricker Drive in Salem.  The Salem Township Hospital Foundation is a 501-C3 organization and your gift will be for a tax credit.
