The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reports several wrecks blamed on the heavy rains Sunday night.

Two people refused medical treatment when their car hit standing water on Route 37 North of Salem near Basom Road.  Deputies identify the driver as 33-year-old Kimberly Wager of Pearl Street in Salem and passenger, 22-year-old Kegan Farrell of North Broadway in Salem.

An Iuka man lost control of his car while traveling on U.S. 50 east of Salem near Double D Western Wear during the heavy rains.  The car driven by Jesse Goff of Boyd Avenue ran into the roadside ditch and was submerged in water.   He was able to get out of the vehicle on his own and refused hospital treatment.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reports another vehicle temporarily became stranded when driving into high water across the Marshall Creek Road.   She was able to get out of her car which was later towed from the water.
