The Salem Lady Cats return to Cahokia play this afternoon with a makeup game at Freeburg. Salem is 8-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference with a dominant 19-8 win at Breese. Salem banged out 25 hits in the game including 9 extra base hits. Freshman Mya Russell hit her first career high school long ball and Lilly Blagoue hit her 4th of the season. Bre Thruman drove in 3 runs as well. Thurman went all 7 innings allowing 12 hits and 7 earned with 13 strikeouts and no walks.
The Christ Our Rock Lady Stallions are 6-1 on the season as they got 7 RBI from Emma Williamson in their 15-5 win over Marquette. Emma went 3-for-5 with a double and 2 home runs. In the circle, the junior allowed 8 hits and struck out 11 with just one walk.

In yesterday’s softball games, Carbondale beat Cahokia 23-2, Carlyle 5-0 over Chester, Flora lost to Edwards County 10-9, Freeburg 2-0 over Roxana, Marion beat Mount Vernon 14-4, Wesclin beat Sparta 16-3.
