The Salem 13u Travel Wildcats dropped a pair of tight games to South Central Storm Chasers over the weekend.
In the opener, Salem fell 5-4. Jared Crompton had 2 hits including a double and drove in a run for Salem. Zane Applegate added a double and RBI and Rhett Starnes drove in a run. Colton Tockstein worked 3 innings on the mound allowing 5 hits and 4 earned runs with 6 strikeouts. Applegate worked an inning and allowed a hit.
In the 2nd game, Salem lost 5-3. Tockstein drove in 2, Applegate had an RBI and Bentley Bryan had a hit and run. Applegate worked 2 innings allowing a hit and no earned runs. Jax Schaubert worked the final 3 innings.
