CORLHS Track Opens Season On Thursday

The Christ Our Rock Silver Stallions took to the Track Thursday afternoon after being rained out on Tuesday.

The day began with the Stallions Landyn Mitchell placing 3rd in the long jump with a jump of 18’5″, only jumping 1 time to save his legs for the hurdles.

The running events began with the 4×800 relay team of Carson Pigg, Anderson Engele, Elijah Gregory and Zerek Koch finishing 2nd. Next up the 4×100 relay team of Landyn Mitchell, Alton Davis, Isaiah Lyons, and Arda Genzel placing 5th respectively. Wyatt Gregory follwed up the 2 relays with a 3rd place finish in the 3200 meter run. Then it was Landyn Mitchell’s turn again in the 110M hurdles, where he placed 2nd despite landing akwardly after coming over a hurdle. In the 100 meter Dash Arda Gensel grabbed a 4th place overall finish. Then Carson Pigg picked up a point in the 800 meter run finishing 6th.

Next up was the 4×200 and the Stallions team of Alton Davis, Elijah Gregory, Isaiah Lyons and Arda Gensel finished with a narrow 2nd place. Arda Gensel wasnt done just yet as he brought home a win in the 200 meter Dash with tired legs and his teammate Isaiah Lyons was right behind him in 2nd, complete a great 1-2 finish.

The Stallions Distance crew showed up big in the 1600 meter run as well with Carson Pigg finishing 2nd, Zerek Koch 3rd and Elijah Gregory 4th. Coach Koch threw a all Distance 4×400 together and they ran well placing 4th to end the meet.

For the Lady Stallions Madi Nolte was the lone athlete today with Sarah McKowen, Chloe Tate on spring break vacation and Rylee Brammeier out with a family engagement. Nolte finished 5th in the Shot Put and 6th in the Discus!

The Stallions compete again Tuesday at The Altamont Open. “Overall it was a very successful meet for the Stallions and we continue to improve and see PRs and rack up some points,” said coach Tim Koch.
