The Salem Wildcats open up their Cahokia Conference baseball schedule today with a home game against Columbia.
Salem hosted Odin/Patoka/Sandoval yesterday. The War-Eagles came out swinging as they took an early 4-0 lead, but Salem would tie it with 4 runs in the bottom of the 2nd, and would take the lead with 6 runs in the fourth to win 14-5. Noah Nix homered for his 2nd of the year, Josh Powless had 2 doubles and drove in 3, Gavin Zimmermann doubled and drove in 2, Jalen Inlow also doubled as part of a 2-3 day scoring 3 runs and driving in another and Kam Wilkins also doubled home a run. Keaton Gullion scored twice, including the go ahead run in the 4th.
