The Franklin Park Middle School Student Council more than doubled its goal during the annual food drive that came to an end last Friday.
Franklin Park Principal Tyler Lux reported $8,535 in canned food items and monetary donations were raised for the Salem Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry. The goal had been $4,000 in canned goods and cash donations.
Lux says the school is proud of the students and staff for their work in seeking donations and the Student Council for their work and time to assist with sorting and stocking the donated items.
