The SIJHSAA State Bowling Tournament was held at St Clair Bowl. Bartelso won the boys event with Waterloo 2nd, Wesclin 3rd and Albers/Damiansville 4th. The Selmaville Rockets were 5th, Breese 7th, Casey 8th, Franklin Park 16 and Rome 18th.
Sam Beck of Waterloo won the title ahead of Trigg Goestenkers of Albers. Casey’s Nick Hartman was 6th and Central City’s Jackson Mikesell tied for 14th.
For the Rockets, Jaxon Ward finished 17th, Logan Butts 37, Carter Shanafelt 58, Nicholi Marhanka tied for 59th and Gavin Harper 91.
For Franklin Park, Kolby Hempen finished tied for 33rd, Bentley Bryan 64, Kai Graham 72, Kellen Nix tied for 77, Ethan Poole 89 and Liam Morris 100.
For Rome, Cooper Bradley 24, Trenton Ray tied for 59, Jackson Piercy 82, Auggie Tinsley 83 and Grady Tynes 86.
Mascoutah won the state girls title with Waterloo 2nd, Smithton 3rd and Jams 4th. Aviston was 5th, Wesclin 7, Selmaville 11, Breese 13, Franklin Park 15 and Central City 16.
Mascoutah’s Chayse Rutledge edged out Waterloo’s Alissa Wisely for the title.
Selmaville was led by Shelby Johnson 32, Talya Gowler tied for 35, Alana Finney tied for 46, Gia Ward 78 and Adrienne Birch 91.
Makynzi Hurd led Franklin Park finishing 33rd, Lilly Morris 71, Hadley Allison tied for 76, Lilah Barrow 81 and Ivy Villalobos 83.
Kaylee Easley led Central City 49, Aslyn Amason tied for 50, McKenna Vandaveer 56 and Brooklyn Upton 79.
