Police Beat for Saturday, March 16th, 2024

Salem Police arrested a 29-year-old Salem man for criminal damage to property and reckless conduct after he allegedly threw a brick against a closed car window where two people were inside.  James Stroup of Allmon Street was taken into custody at the scene.  The brick shattered the windshield but fell to the ground outside the car.  Police say the intended victim inside along with a four-year-old boy were not injured.

Salem Police arrested 25-year-old Jolee Graham of South Maple for criminal trespass to a residence after she allegedly entered a home in the 300 block of East Olive without permission.  Graham reportedly told police she thought she was in a friend’s home.

30-year-old Zachary Arnold of South College in Salem was returned from the Washington County Jail at Nashville to Marion County on an outstanding no-bond traffic warrant.

27-year-old Amilcar Janenez-Gonzalez of Westmont Street in Mt. Vernon was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence.  He was later released on a notice to appear in court.

Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted Fayette County deputies in recovering a stolen car and arrested a woman at a Kinmundy home on Friday.  After the stolen vehicle was allegedly found outside, Stephanie Shehorn was taken into custody at the home in the 200 block of East 5th and returned to the Fayette County Jail.
