New Horizon won the Sandoval Regional in Class S over Selmaville in a classic 25-20, 18-25, 15-13. The Lady Crusaders advance to this weekend’s State Tournament. In the loss, Carly Veach led the Rockets with 10 points, Talya Gowler and Kenna Benjamin added 8. Alana Finney was great with 11 kills. Gowler and Brylee Carter added 5 assists.
In Class S at North Wamac tonight, Waltonville takes on Grand Prairie at 4 with the winner playing at 5 against Irvington/North Wamac at 5. The other semifinal is TSJ Nashville playing Ashley.
At Field, Rome plays Kell at 4 with the winner getting Field at 5 and Raccoon and Bluford at 6 in the other semifinal.
At Iuka, St Peter and Patoka play at 4:30 with the winner playing Trinity Lutheran Stewardson at 6:30. Iuka and Altamont Lutheran play in the other semifinal at 5:30. The championship is tomorrow at 6.
