The Salem Wildcats open up their baseball season this afternoon at home when they host the Mount Vernon Rams. The JV will play at the Little League Complex. Salem will then travel to Murphysboro on Friday before heading to Belleville on Saturday for 2 games in the PBR Series. The JV will play Saturday hosting Johnston City for 2.
The South Central Cougars opened their season up last night with a home win over CHBC 7-0.
Also in baseball action, Benton lost to Bartlett 15-1, Carlyle shutout Lebanon 22-0, Centralia lost to DuQuoin 12-1, Vandalia fell to Father McGivney 16-0, Lawrenceville 5-3 over Dieterich, Benton fell to Tipton Academy 2-1.
