The Centralia City Council Monday night will be asked to move forward on demolition of 15 additional homes the city intends to declare as derelict structures to reduce blight in the impacted neighborhoods.   They are at 1436 South Pine, 307 North Maple, 1220 South Cherry, 520 South Maple, 1221 Bond, 513 East 3rd, 1019 Case, 424 Melrose, 623 North Locust, 1212 Bond, 614 South Cherry, 1304 South Lincoln, 34 Devonia, 910 East 15th and 429 South Cherry.  Liens would be placed on the properties for the full amount, including court costs.  The cost of the demolition would be taken from the 2024 budget in the Community Development Demolition Fund.

The council will also open bids on six other properties the city earlier surplused.  They are on Dunbar Lane on Raccoon Lake, 1011 Hester, 615 North Hickory, 129 and 135 North Maple, as well as 127 South Maple.

A vacant property located between 4th Street and CN Railroad west of Locust Street with an appraised value of $45,000 will be considered for surplus.

In other action, the council will consider a $48,498 bid from Lakeside Roofing for roofing improvements to the waste water treatment plant.  Another resolution seeks to waive bidding and approve a $95,882 contract from Wastewater Treatment Plant Actuators to purchase actuators to improve operation at the waste water treatment plant.

A resolution to enter an agreement with Gonzalez Companies, LLC to provide professional services to prepare for new pavement markings on 11.4 miles of street will be considered for a fee of $10,750.

Police Chief Chris Locke is asking to enter a contract with Porter Lee Corporation for $10,266 to provide a management contract for evidence storage and disposition.

The meeting gets underway at six Monday night at Centralia City Hall.
