The Salem Community High School boys bowling team has been honored on their state championship at the State Capitol.
State Representative Blaine Wilhour invited the team to the State House chambers to present them with a resolution honoring their achievements.
“You guys are awesome. We appreciate you. Bowling is one of the great traditional American sports. Thank you for doing your part to keep bowling great in America. You make us proud and with the one senior on the team, we are expecting a 3-peat, which would be the first time in the State that a team would 3-peat so the bar is high. Congratulations and continue to do the great work you do.”
Wilhour introduced the team members to the Illinois House before presenting the honor. Members of the team were then able to tour the capitol before returning home.
