A 26-year-old Centralia man has been arrested by Centralia Police on an outstanding federal warrant and on separate charges of domestic battery and endangering the life, health, and safety of his nine-year-old son.

Police report the incident involving the boy occurred on January 29th when Jarvis Brown of East Noleman Street reportedly admitted to his ex-wife that he had beaten the boy with a belt.  Brown could not be located at the time, but police found the boy’s injuries were consistent with a whipping by a belt.

Police were also looking for Brown in connection with a federal court indictment for being a felon in possession of ammunition.  The warrant for his arrest was issued on February 21st.

Brown faces a federal charge in connection with an incident last July where he reportedly fired shots after his dog got into a fight with another dog.  One of the dogs was killed.  Brown had left the area before the police arrived.
