Kathleen “Kathi” Flanagan, 69, of Arlington Heights, Il., formerly of Sandoval, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on Monday, February 3, 2025.
She was the daughter of Ardell and Doris Cameron of Ashley Illinois. Kathi married John (Pat) Flanagan and lived in Sandoval for many years.
She is survived by her two sons: Michael Flanagan and Bryan Flanagan; her daughter: Laura Giannakaris and son in law Pete Giannakaris; and Granddaughters: Miradon Tatro Flanagan, Lia Giannakaris and Anna Giannakaris. Kathi is also survived by her brothers: Tom Cameron and Russell Cameron; sisters: Pam Voss and Tracy Monical; and several nieces and nephews.
Kathi loved to read and spend time with her family. She would do anything to take care of her children and grandchildren. Our mother fought a long battle with COPD and cancer and never gave up. She fought with everything she had right up to the very end. She will be so sadly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Pat Flanagan, father: Ardell Cameron, and as well as many friends along the way.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 7, 2025 at noon at the Sutherland Rankin Funeral Home in Salem. She will be laid to rest at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin. Visitation will be held Friday morning from 10 AM until the time of service at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the COPD Foundation and or the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the Sutherland Rankin Funeral Home at 310 North Broadway/ PO Box 97 Salem, IL 62881, 618-548-1234, who is honored to be of service to Kathi’s family.
